Requirements & Benefits

A craft distiller defined as:

  • Creating original spirits distilled by the DSP that reflect a handcrafted vision and approach to production, including fermenting, distilling, redistilling, blending, infusing, aging, proofing, bottling and labeling.  NOTE:  This does not mean all products for a given DSP have to be ‘craft spirits.’ As long as at least one product being produced meets the requirements of Voting Member, the entity will be considered for membership as a voting member.

  • Holding TTB-approved labels that state “Distilled By” followed by the name of the DSP. 

  • With annual production from all sources not exceeding 100,000 proof gallons removed from bond.

  • Independently-owned with less than 25% of the craft distillery owned/controlled by members in the alcoholic beverage industry who are not themselves craft distillers.

  • Membership includes voting rights; i.e., one vote for a single representative of the company.

  • Must be a member in good standing and agree to adhere to and uphold the Guild’s Code of Ethics.

  • Annual Dues: $200 (or pro-rated to $100 7/1-12/31 of current year for new members only).

BENEFITS include:

  • Full voting rights on MCDG matters.

  • Experienced representation to advocate on state and federal legislative matters affecting the craft distillery industry.

  • Collective status to leverage purchasing power (i.e. insurance, bulk commodity discounts, etc.).

  • Listing on MCDG website and other social media including logo, distillery description and location on online Missouri Spirits Expedition map.

  • Access to MCDG member-only website and data.

  • Listing on Missouri Spirits Expedition map and with option to participate in Missouri Spirits Expedition Program.

  • Access to MCDG marketing materials.

  • Invitation to MCDG member-only promotional, educational, and social events.

  • Permission to use MCDG logo at booths and events.
