Exactly 215 years to the hour after Lewis & Clark and the Corps of Discovery set out on their bold expedition of exploration, we launched the brand new Missouri Spirits Expedition on May 24th, 2019.
We invite the world to explore Missouri and meet the fascinating, passionate entrepreneurs who are building Missouri as a premiere destination for craft spirits.

A BOLD ADVENTURE INTO THE UNKNOWN
We urge you to follow along in the spirit of Lewis & Clark as you adventure across the great state of Missouri and visit its many distilleries. Each with its own unique story to tell and flavors to taste. Along your journey you'll make lifelong memories as you discover intoxicating elixirs, potent potables, surprising history, and new friends. On this statewide ‘trail’, you can visit these incredible small businesses and we will ‘Show You’ why Missouri is home to some of the best handcrafted spirits available. From the White Oak Barrels to access to historical and diverse grain, Missouri is home to some of the most award-winning spirits in the nation.

The Challenge
Participation on this Expedition is free to all (21+). Simply visit a participating MSE Outfitter to get your Expedition Log. Along the way, you’ll receive unique stamps and earn rewards. Once completed, you will earn your reward of a free bottle of Missouri Spirits Expedition Blended ‘MO Bourbon’ Whiskey. This truly collaborative spirit can only be obtain by completing the trail! Gather your crew and answer the call!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What does MSE mean? The Missouri Spirits Expedition is our statewide distillery trail. It is inspired by Lewis & Clark and covers the whole state, as well as over 30 different craft distilleries!
2. What is an MSE Outfitter/Where did the Name come from? In the spirit of the Lewis & Clark Expedition, we have chosen the name of MSE Outfitter to designate participating distilleries on the Expedition.
4. How do I particpate Do I really have to give you my email/I don’t have an email? Give us your email or likes us on Facebook, get a log and collect stamps! It’s that easy! Sharing your email or connecting with us on social media means we can communicate important updates and special offers with you!
5. Do I have to make a purchase at every distiller to get a stamp? No! Simply take the tour, do the tasting, and just enjoy each individual distillery experience.
6. I earned a voucher – do I have to spend it at the distillery where I earned it? No! You can use the voucher at any participating distillery, including the place you earned it.
7. I’ve completed the MSE! How do I get my MSE Exclusive Bourbon Bottle!? With your last stamp, you will sign a “Final” Voucher slip at the distillery. That final stop will award your MSE Bourbon Bottle. We would also like to showcase your amazing trip by taking a photo with you. You will be required to sign a media release so we can share your success on our social media channels.
8. One of the distilleries on my map closed/is no longer in operation. Am I required to get their stamp? We understand that businesses change. We also know “old” maps exist. Your expedition consists of the map as per the printing you received it. Should a distillery go out of business during your map’s printing, that space will essentially become a “free” space. Free spaces are ONLY for legitimate, closed businesses. Distillery’s that require appointments or reservations that do not fit into your schedule, but are still open, do not qualify as a free space. Just because it may seem inconvenient, doesn’t mean they are closed.
9. Is there a time restriction/does my log or stamps expire? NO! We want you to complete the Expedition on your own schedule. We also know that each individual distillery has their own hours and availability. Best to call ahead and go at your own pace! We know some Distillery’s offer tasting by appointment only or via specific hours. Please make arrangements with each distillery, in your own time.
10.I live out of state how do I get my rewards? Vouchers will be given to you during your 10th and 20th stop by that participating distillery. The final reward of the MSE Blended Bourbon, unfortunately, cannot be mailed as each state has vastly different requirements for shipping spirits. You must be physically present your completed expedition log to receive the bottle. The good news is they don’t expire, so you can save it for your next trip thru Missouri. Just visit any participating Outfitter. We suggest calling ahead and letting them know.
11. I completed a trail. Can I do it again? YES! As MO Craft Spirits grows, so does the trail!
